Derek Lunsford reclaimed his crown as Mr. Olympia 2025 while Andrea Shaw extended her dominance in the women’s division with a sixth consecutive Ms. Olympia title.
The 61st edition of the Olympia weekend saw the men’s Open division deliver one of the deepest, most unpredictable fields in recent memory.
Last year’s champion Samson Dauda returned to defend, joined by big names including Hadi Choopan (2022 champion) and former champ Derek Lunsford, whose 2024 finish left him hungry to return to the top.
In the end, Lunsford prevailed and denying the event a repeat champion for the fourth straight year.
His victory secured the “Triple Crown” of the year, after also winning the Arnold Classic and Pittsburgh Pro.
Lunsford walked away with the top prize of $600,000.
Behind him, Hadi Choopan claimed second place (earning $200,000) for the third year in a row, while Andrew Jacked took third ($100,000), solidifying his place among the elite.
Samson Dauda, despite being in arguably better shape than last year, was edged into fourth place with $40,000.
As for the rest of the top five, Martin Fitzwater rounded out the podium positions with $30,000.
Other notable names in the top 10 included Nick Walker, Brandon Curry, Tonio Burton, William Bonac, and Vitalii Ugolnikov.
In the women’s Ranks: A reining queen
On the women’s side, few were surprised when Andrea Shaw had her hand raised once more.
She clinched her sixth consecutive Ms. Olympia title in a commanding performance, further cementing her legacy in the sport.
While challengers such as Ashley Lynette Jones and Leyvina Barros vied for the podium, Shaw proved unmatched this year.
Jones took silver, and Barros earned bronze.
The contest also featured runners in the top six including Angela Yeo, Alcione Santos Barreto, and Melissa Teich.
Shaw’s prize was, consistent with the payouts for the women’s divisions.
This win adds to Shaw’s already storied trajectory; she is now drawing ever closer to the all-time records in women’s bodybuilding.
Other Divisions & Highlights
Beyond the marquee Open and Ms. categories, Olympia 2025 delivered surprises in multiple divisions:
In Classic Physique, Ramon Rocha Queiroz (aka “Ramon Dino”) captured the title, earning $100,000.
He edged out Mike Sommerfeld (second) and Terrence Ruffin (third).
With the recent retirement of Chris Bumstead, the Classic Physique throne was up for grabs, and Dino seized it.
The Men’s 212 division saw a hat trick: Keone Pearson won his third straight title, with Shaun Clarida second and Lucas Garcia third.
In Women’s Physique, a major upset occurred: Natalia Abraham Coelho dethroned the four-time champion Sarah Villegas to win the division’s 2025 title.
The Bikini Olympia title went to Maureen Blanquisco, with Ashlyn Little in second and Jasmine González in third.
In Wellness, Eduarda Bezerra took the top spot, ahead of Isabelle Nunes and Elisa Alcantara.
Meanwhile, in Men’s Physique, Ryan Terry emerged victorious, with Ali Bilal and Brandon Hendrickson rounding out the podium.
